Sometimes, we all need a little support and asking for it should never be seen as negative but choosing the person to work with is an emotional and intuitive experience.
So I would suggest we have an initial chat on the phone to see how we can work together. I will then send you a little questionnaire to fill in to give me a deeper insight into your child’s behaviours and issues they are finding challenging.
At this point we can agree on which approach will work best for your child – Drawing and Talking or Emotion Coaching for instance.
We can then look at dates and time for your child to visit my ‘calm cabin’ in the garden of my home.
The number of sessions we book in will usually be at least a 6 week block but with an additional introductory ‘get to know you session’’. After this, it is possible that more sessions may be needed which we can discuss as we go along.
The sessions last one hour and the content will of course differ from child to child, but here is an outline of a typical session:
The session lasts 45 mins through a 12 week cycle and includes an informal chat with the child to catch up on news since the last time I have seen them, then 30 minutes drawing and talking time and a movement break at the end to promote self-regulation. Please see the Drawing and Talking and the Sand Tray sections on the Therapies page for more information.
The costings above includes the session itself, all resources we will use, planning time and written evaluation.
If you are unable to attend a session, I am always happy to rearrange but require you to provide 24 hours’ notice otherwise no refund or re-arrangement would be available.
